Sandra Hanson is a thirty-year middle-level educator who has taught earth science throughout her teaching career, which included a unit in meteorology and the study of weather. Finding ways to increase the understanding of the concept of weather has always been a passion of hers.

Her illustrator is Jan Jones. She started her art career as an interior designer of residential and commercial spaces as well as an instructor of design at the college level. She continues to practice today as a freelance design consultant. In the same time span she taught art in pre-k through middle school classrooms and university level studio art and instruction.

As middle school science and art teachers, they have always collaborated on bringing the world of weather to their students. Students' understanding of how this all works has been of high interest to all involved. Finding a fun and unique way to help grasp the nature of what affects their students daily life has been intriguing and a great adventure.
They love their students, and all learners, and they all love the weather.

When not working on their books, they can be found as busy grandmothers involved in the lives of all their grandchildren. They love to read, draw, and write with them. They can also be found often subbing in the local school systems as well.
